How to Install Windows Media Player 11.0 Bypassing Genuine Windows Validation...
Windows Media Player 11.0 is the latest Media Player by Microsoft. It offers great new ways to store and enjoy all your music, video and pictures along with its new cool look. You must have Windows XP Service Pack-2 (SP2) in order to install Windows Media Player 11.0. But still you will face a problem while installing this new Windows Media Player if your copy of Windows XP is not a genuine (non-pirated) one, since WMP 11.0 installation requires genuine windows validation!!!
But there are some tricky steps through which you can install WMP 11.0 even in your pirated copy of windows XP bypassing the genuine windows validation. You just have to follow the following steps one by one:

But there are some tricky steps through which you can install WMP 11.0 even in your pirated copy of windows XP bypassing the genuine windows validation. You just have to follow the following steps one by one:
- Download Windows Media Player 11.0 (make sure its the final and latest version, not beta) from the Microsoft Site. Alternatively, you can download the installer file directly from here. Remember you can’t install Windows Media Player 11.0 if service pack 2.0 is not installed in your operating system.
- Extract the downloaded Windows Media Player setup file (wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe) using WinRAR to a directory (wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu). Now make sure you have a “LegitLibM.dll” file in the extracted “wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu” folder.
- Download the patched LegitLibM.dll and then copy-paste it to the “wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu” folder and click yes when asked to overwrite.
- Now run “setup_wm.exe” file in the “wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu” folder.
- Restart your PC, then run your Windows Media Player and you are done!!!

YOU CAN DO IT WITHOUT ANY CRACK
To pass windows validation:
1. Right click on wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe and extract it with winrar to any folder
2. In folder you will seeWindowsXP-MSCompPackV1-x86.exe wmp11.exe wmfdist11.exe umdf.exe and wmdbexport.exe install them
3. Reboot
4. Run any media player shortcut you have on your system...a screen will popup asking "express" or "custom"
5. Choose custom and its smooth sailing from there.
If you fail first time, then do it second time with installing wmpappcompat.exe and reboot your computer. But yuo have to sure your WMP11 file is final version. I did this work after several times of stup xp service pack 2.

Shaon bhaiya would you please to tell me what is "Registry key"? What does this key do in XP? Because i have found a registry key which able to bypass the validation of Micrisoft. That's why i am able to install IE7,WMP11 and Windows Defender without any Crack file or Extract them. Just downloaded those files and installed them normally.

In Microsoft Windows, registry keys are used to store configuration information: the value of a relevant key is changed every time a program is installed or when its configuration settings have been modified. May be you have found a key that has edited some registry values and because of this your OS is working as if it's a genuine one! But, editing registry keys is very very risky thing to do, sometimes it can corrupt your OS! So, I personally never prefer editing registry values using any registry keys!

hello there, here's another way of installing WMP11, simple and fast...
*Open the extracted folder. Run the wmfdist11.exe file. then restart your PC.
*Go to the extracted folder again and run the wmp11.exe file.
Restart the computer again and ENJOY!!!
the 1st method didn't work for me.. but this one is really working.! try it now!!!
Cheers for this. However windows updated my beta copy of wmp11. What I did was to download the cracked LegitLibM.dll and then copy paste that into the windows media player folder in program files. Worked like a charm for me.

2. if u hav activ internet sevice, disabe ur Local Area connection or disconect ur internet by unplugin ur internet cable.
3.the run da setup file ie:"wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu"....u don need 2 reboot or xtract nithing....

Easiest I found:
Extract, rename legitlibm.dll to .bak, install, don't worry about messages and go ahead (dont cancel). It worked for me.
after updated the latest version of windows form microsft site....when i try to run the windows ...its say ur windows is not genuine...bla..bla..and i m downloading the "legitlib.dll" from crack site and copying it to the media player directory...but...its not working.
Then I change the name..of dll file and replace it ..then its working..

I just wanted to say that your site really helped me a lot!! I had already bypassed the validation required for the IE7 setup, not knowing about normaliz.dll, whic is why I went through quite some trouble to restore my desktop and everything. About a week later I decided to install the media player 11 and typed in "media player 11 crack validation" into google, where, luckiy, I found this page. First I followed the steps to outsmart microsoft and get my new media player, which worked perfectly, but then, just out of curiosity, I went back to look at what you had to say on bypassing the IE7 validation. First I was quite impressed, seeing that you had already included the normaliz.dll problem and its solution (I didn't know that the file was there all along, just in a different place, namely c:\ instead of c:\windows\system32. By the way, putting the file in the c:\system folder also works.). But then I saw step 7, which I had never done. It dawned on me, that maybe that was the reason, why my new IE7 seemes so empty, with so many of its features and important buttons, as the "add to favorites" button, missng, and after I ran xmllitesetup.exe I saw that a complete new toolbar emerged in my IE.

There Is Also Another Work Around To Bypass WGA For Windows Media Player 11 In XP WITHOUT replacing files.
1. Download Windows Media Player 11 Final From The Links Above.
2. Download And Install Zonealarm Free Firewall.
3. Now, Launch And Start The Windows Media Player 11 Installation Wizard
4. Follow All Instructions Until You Get To The WGA Part.
5. Proceed To Let It Check Your System And When Zonealarm Asks Deny Everything While It Is Checking For WGA
6. If All Goes Well (As It Should)
The Installation Shall Complete As Normal.
NOTE: THIS WORKAROUND DOES NOT WORK ON IE7 Or WINDOWS DEFENDER

Explorer worked without a hitch, but I can't get wmp 11 to work, it keeps saying to reboot my computer for the changes to take affect and that I must be the system administrator to do this. I do and I am, I'm running XP Pro. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the other info.

Hey it didn't work out yaar.i did download windows Media player and did as u said.I extracted the setup using winrar then i downloaded the legit file and copy pasted it in the extracted folder.And one more thing in the extracted folder the setup was setup_wm and not setuo_wm.exe.I got so excited that it might work out but i was too disappointed.My email id is prasad.suvarna9@yahoo.co.in.Please can u once again elaborate the process and tell me how to do it.Mine is XP service pack 2.Please i need ur help.Please do reply.

Just to let you know what I did.
I let WMP update itself when I asked.
Then simply copied the legit.dll over the old one and I was good to go. I've tried shutting wmp down and re-starting and it worked fine. Haven't re-booted the system yet to try that.
Then again the best work around is probably delete wmp and use winamp.

The upgrade/install worked, however, I can open wmp by opening an .mp3 but, the wmplayer.exe isn't around anywhere and I am not able to activate the toolbar mini mode. The option is no longer available when I right-click the taskbar and try to check windows media player in the toolbar option. Is anyone else having this problem?

yeah...finally installed wmv11 after using your method...cant seem to install using other ways...but I think you should include another step after step 4 stating that anyone who wants to install should click validate first,then it would bypass...that would clear peoples minds..anyways great job!!!!!

Both Tips for bypassing work great for me... well i sinstalled wmp 11 in 2 pcs one at my home one at the office, in teh office works fine but at home got trouble with the time bar y gan get to some parts with mpgs, but with avi yes, in both pcs i got al the updates and codecs, but in the one that i got trouble i dont have ntfs, i got fat 32, and also i got 2 codecs more installed than the other, and the last thing its that i got trouble installing the first time, it was desactivate the restauration of the system and i couldnt finish the installation because the validation, i tried to unistall and reinstall didnt work, also i installed the wmp 10 and work fine but i installed the 11 and couldent make the time ba rwork, i hope u can help me with this, thank you Very Much Alejandro

Just make sure you disconnect from the net, if constant connection pull out the plug, then click validate.... after reboot replace the LegitLibM.dll and bobs your uncle it will work.

It's so easy to make windows 100% licensed (Windows Genuine), so you can download/install Windows Media Player 11
1 – Download the file “Instrutions.txt”, they have the easy instruction for the next 4 files:

2 - Download and Open "Generate Windows XPVLK Genuine Serial" ( 1_WGenSer.zip ) from :

Then select "Windows Xp Pro. VLK" from Product Family section, press "generate"
to generate a brand new Windows XP VLK serial, note it to somewhere to use on the next step.
3 - Download and open "Change Your Windows XP Key" ( 2_ChgWK.zip) from :

Select "Change Windows Key" from the options, then enter the serial you previously noted
in the previous step.
4 - Download and open "Windows Genuine Advantage Fix" ( 3_WGAF.zip ) from :

Select "Yes" in the dialog to apply genuine fix, now your windows must be licensed.
5 - Download and open "Genuine Advantage Checker" ( 4_GACk.zip ) from :

After that you can :
- download all Windows and Office updates,
- play all the media with "Windows Media Player 11",

i have xp sp2 and wmp11 i have taken from link above on this page itself...
i could not install wmp.
I used both the methods,
1.the first one it straight went to validation and said the dll file is not valid file.(the one which was replaced)
2.the individual components installation and reboot: it said the windows is getting a different number than expected so cannot install.
so plz help me out guys...it seems to be working for everyone else except for me...

heres a way to install windows media player 11 :-
========Installation========
1. Extract (unrar, unzip) wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe to a new folder
2. RUN wmfdist11.exe
3. RESTART your COMPUTER
4. RUN wmp11.exe
5. RESTART your COMPUTER
6. Start Windows Media Player 11 !

I tried another way of bypassing the validation (by installing extracted files) but it didn't work and stopped my windows media player from functioning.

ok so i try your way over and over and over and over... but nothing got me passed the WGA... untill i opened the revert file in the set folder... and boom i cold get passed the WGA... had to click valitied but it works... try it if your beating you head on the wall with this...
